Members of The Manassas City Democratic Committee converged on the City Council to explain to the Council why ending May elections would help Manassas. John Meagher presented MCDC's position to Manassas City Council. The Council has not yet responed to the presentation.

6TH ANNUAL
WINE & CHEESE PARTY
The Manassas City, Gainesville District and Brentsville District Democratic Committees hostet the 6th Annual Wine and Cheese Party on Friday, July 28 2006.  The event was be held at the home of John and Clara Meagher in Manassas. More than 100 local Democrats attended. 
The Wine and Cheese Party featured keynote addresses from Messrs. Pierce Homer and Aneesh Chopra.  Jeanette Rishell, Democratic candidate from the 50th House of Delegates district, Andrew Hurst, Democratic Congressional candidate from the 11th district, and Gary Friedman, Democratic candidate for Chairman of the Prince William County Board of Supervisors will also addressed the crowd.

 

  
Addresses from Messrs. Pierce Homer and Aneesh Chopra wait to give their Keynote speeches. Funds from the event will benefit local Democratic committees to help elect Democrats in 2006 and 2007.

Election Night Celebration

50th District Delegate candidate, Donald Shuemaker, and members of The Manassas City Democratic Committee eagerly await election results. The crowd cheered when they learned that Governor-Elect Tim Kaine won the Baldwin District in Manassas City. Shuemaker won 37% of the vote against a 24 year incumbent.
